Need rabbit help ASAP

I think Sophie, my Netherlands Dwarf/Californian rabbit is dying. She is laying on her side, labored breathing, jaw moving occasionally, and is not really responsive to sound, even dogs barking.

While observing her, she stopped breathing for 8 seconds, then resumed.

There is obviously a problem.

Is she dying?

I’m sorry. How old is she? Do you have a vet nearby?

She is about 8. I don’t know if I have a vet nearby that will look at rabbits. I’ll look into it.

Her fur is also yellowing, I just noticed that, it’s normally white.

She’s very pretty. Rabbits usually only live 5-7ish years. When you’re calling vets tell them it’s an emergency. Sometimes they will at least try to help even if they don’t specialize n exotics.

Have you taken her temperature? Take it rectally. 105 or above means she is ill. I am so sorry.

I don’t have a rectal thermometer. I can get one, though.

A regular looking digital will work. Just don’t use it on uourself or anyone else after. Wipe it with alcohol and, if you have any lube, put some on it.

You can use a normal mouth one (google that! I’m not 100%) - just remember that will be for animals only in the future!!!
