Hi,
Have been reading this thread with great interest. So much good knowledge here! I have light Sussex on packed brown dirt. Have 2"x6" 's around the bottom sides of the yard and can add 5 inches of flooring. I want to get them on white or sand flooring. Have decided on very small gravel, rough river sand and either crushed or dust of limestone. Now I need a recipe of how much and in what order to layer them. I want to end up with a firm but not concrete hard flooring. One they will scratch in but not destroy with holes. The yard is roofed and well drained. In mottled shade all day long. Prevailing wind blows thru one long side and out the other. Yard is 6' x 20'.
Thanks so much for any help you can give!
Best Regards,

I don't think there is a recipe I used septic sand and they love it dusting all day and scratching around, they will dig holes and once a week I rake everything flat when picking up poop, in the winter I wrap the run with a heavy canvas and a clear shower curtain keeps the snow out and the sand doesn't freeze.
