I need one that mixes with water. I cannot imagine giving 47 chickens individual doses!

Please someone tell me there is a broad spec wormer that mixes with water?

I checked past posts and I didn't find one from the several I read.

The broad spectrum wormer I used I dosed orally and it really was easy. My DH grabbed a chicken, I used the pull wattle make mouth open trick and squirted it in. As each was dosed, my DH turned them loose out the door so nobody got double dosed. We did 18 chickens in 10 minutes flat.

I did not use a oral wormer...my girls are various sizes and it is too hard to get the correct dosage IMHO. I used Ivermectin Pour On...just apply 4-6 drops on their back near their shoulders like you would a dog with flea medication. Then repeat in 10 days. Toss the eggs during that 20 day period.

It was easy to do and I did 30 of them all by myself.

Thanks, but I really want to know if there is a broad spectrum that can be added to their water.

I would be doing this by myself and I cannot chase 47 chickens around because either I would die of a heart attack or I would accidently stomp one to death in trying.

Hopefully someone will know of one this morning ???

I don't think Wazine is a broad spectrum, is it? Doesn't it just control roundworm?

My birds are 14 weeks old and aren't laying. I want to worm them in the next couple of weeks before they start laying.

I guess there is nothing.... dang.

It is pretty easy to dose them individually without chasing. Just do it at night when they are well asleep on the roost (wait until kinda late so they are well zonked by the time you get there). Wear a headlamp so you have both hands free, preferably as dim a light as you can still do your work by. With that size flock it may be worth marking them as you do them (various methods come to mind, depending on the color of the chickens) so that if some start jumping down off the roost you don't end up with some double-dosed and others not done at all (you can always do the escapees the next night). But I have had no trouble doing individual things (in my case, dusting for mites) to a group of 10 without chaos.

Good luck,

Pat

Correct, wazine only treats roundworms.
I think there is a way to give the valbazen in the water, but I don't know for sure. If I find it, I'll let you know.
