Need some advice and help

At first I thought the new emu was picking on Popo since he had a few spots were some feathers were missing, but I came out this morning and a quarter of the feathers on his back are gone. I think he plucked them and that he is unhappy and is over grooming. I'm going to get the new emu into a smaller side pen, but I'm worried Popo will still be upset. I'm wondering if anyone else has had emus get this upset. What does it take to get my baby boy happy? I'm worried he is going to get sick and it is so cold and his thigh looks liked a plucked turkey!

How do they interact with each other? Seperating them where they can still interact but not be in the same pen seems like a good idea for now. I normally do this for new emu anyhow or any animal. Has the new emu ever been wormed? Does Popo have any critters crawling on him that might have come from the new one?

Trust me normally I keep thing seperate at first too. I'd had her in a sorta stall when I brought her home. She evidently came through a gap that I would't have thought a bird that size would of come through. Popo had his fall worming and is due for his spring about now. I'm not seeing any mites or lice. I've seen them wander around together on occasion, but last 3- 4 days when ever she gets near him Popo panicks and will even bounce off a fence (he's normally not bad for that), but I've also seen him sleeping close to her, so not sure what that means. He'll come up for loves and won't run away if she gets just close enough to nab a bread(she will not get any closer than that).

I'll be getting her into a 10x10 temp pen while I run a line of fence for a bigger.

Was Popo raised with other emu when he was younger? Good that they are not fighting. Often emu that ate not use to each other will run off wildly from each other. Just determining pecking order in a way. Not sure about his feather picking.......

Only other emu he has known was his sibling before he came home with me at 5 weeks old. He lived in my dining room until he was around 3 or 4 months old. So to him he is people. I figured there would be some pecking order going on and that that is normal, but the missing feathers is what is making me worry. Though this morning the patch is still same size. So will see if the putting a fence between them was what he needed. I figure I'll start passing out treats at the dividing line and just watch and see.
