Need some advice on hatching eggs and baby chicks

The chick is only 2 weeks old so it will be ok to let them (momma and chick) roam the yard with the rest of them? With the weather being like it is (only high 40's during the day), will it be warm enough? Will momma keep it close and warm enough? Sorry for all the questions, like I said we have only had chickens since April and this is our first chick. I am pretty inexperienced and am not sure what to expect, especially with winter quickly approaching.....
