well, as u all may have already read, 3 of the 7 chickens at home have died because of that red diahrea.. but even before then, i had separated all the big male chickens to that off female.. then yesterday, i wanted to let them out of their cage and kinda let em play around the sun and soil..

next thing u know, the roosters started fighing big time.. i was amaze on how they have seemed to forget about each other .. and acted like they didnt know who they were..

They have to be the same size to be together and i have 1 rooster to 20 hens. I wouldnt want more than 1 rooster. Are your chickens still passing blood? you might want to post in the disease link so that you can get better advice from someone with more experience than me.

Its a male thing...I bought what I was told "pullets" at the age of 3 days...found out I had 7 roos!!!! and 8 hens...they were all together...oh you had you normal day who's in charge problems...with a roo here or there chasing another but only to the point of runniing them off....then they wanted all on hen at a time, I had a train on her...thought she would die...

so I seperated my roos...left 3 in the main coop, all I could do, built an emergency coop but in the mean time, I put two in a large wired dog kennel cause they were alittle smaller, and the other two each in there own wired dog kennel....as they waited for there coop. I made it big enough for 7 roos....

Ok, its done...I put the two roos that were together in it...great...I go to get the other two in seperate dog kennels, AND FORGET IT...they wanted to fight like they were strangers!!! Even though I kept them side by side next to each other. So I made this emergency kennel and could only keep 2 in it!!!! all that work.

I posted and ad, and got rid of 6 roos, and kept one...all free for a bag of feed.
