I personally think Daffy’s quack is a loudish raspy quack. But I got a video of Daffy and a photo since Daffy was playing nice with me and not being camera shy. Though, went a little quiet in the video on me, haha.I can't tell for sure from your video, But what I could see it looks like a Cayuga to me.
If it has a loud QUACK it should be a girl. If is has a low raspy quack then it should be a drake. I say should only because there are those rare occasions. . but normally that is how you can tell . (if they are a mallard derived duck, which a Cayuga would be)
That sounds like a drake. And does looks like a Cayuga I believe.
Every time I went to video Daffy, Daffy started going quiet on me![]()
I’m think Daffy is quite possibly a boy cause Daffy doesn’t sound like the duck in the video
Drakes are the two on the right side not talking. Others are girls, one of them is quacking in this video.
Plus you said there is a curled feather, that's probably a drake feather.I’m think Daffy is quite possibly a boy cause Daffy doesn’t sound like the duck in the video![]()
I love Muscovys. My biggest boy, Drake makes little hisses and whistles at me. I’m going to have to get me more females as I only have one and that’s going to be insane on her. And I don’t have it in me to part with my boys. Especially since I think Marvin and Daffy have paired upMost people aim for about 4 females per drake. I actually need to make more room and get more females, I have 2 drakes and 4 ducks. I'd say daffy is a Cayuga drake. Though I'm more into muscovies than mallard derived breeds, so this is just a guess.
Muscovy drakes hiss and females do more of a trill/honk(I don't really know how to describe it well) kind of noise.
And some pictures of my muscovies to show Gender differences just for fun.
Females.

Males. Both of these guys are huge! Nearly double the size of my largest duck.
