So I have started raising my first batch of chicks ever. I've always wanted to and all my friends growing up always farmed and had chickens. Now that I have my own I've done all my research, bought all the supplies needed. Bought my chicks. If it can go wrong it has happened to me so far. :( my oldest chicks and ducks wouldn't get along. Passed that hurdle. Ducks started going after my bamtams. Working on that. One of my silkies suddenly got sick and died. :( the other 3 started getting normal feathers in. Not silkies apparently sizzles. OK I can work with that. Wait ones feathers starTed breaking. ***. A frazzle. Hopefully not. :(. OK bantams are now sick. All 6. Something respiratory. Why me? I love all my chickens and just want things to go as they should. Why does it have to be this way? :( so depressed right now..

That's tough! Ive had more setbacks than i expected as well. It seems to go so smoothly for other people... but trying to enjoy the good moments and not focus on the setbacks. Hang in there!

Think of it this way - everyone has a chick learning curve. You are getting your curve out of the beginning, and that means you will have learned a lot. So the next chicks are going to be a breeze!

It's good to look at the positive. Things were just starting to het so overwhelming. I will definitely have loads of experience after this though so I guess it is good for my future chickens.. :)
