Need some hatching buddies - Hatching May 24-28

I have a pip in my first Mille Fluers! Day 19. Figured they would be early. Small eggs. Probably won't get a chick until tomorrow though.
So excited. My other 8 of the same breed will go into lockdown tonight.
Love those colors..and am looking for a porcelain now. Have a lady that has a hen that she can send..across country! Has anyone done that before? Would love to have one already grown. Fun. She would be babied for sure.

Just like my others.

Update on my eggs.....exploding egg occured on Sunday and best I can tell I have only lost 1 since that time. I have a feeling that since the egg didn't explode onto the other eggs, I got very lucky!

I'm so happy for you!
I now have all three pipped of my first that went into lock down. Now, my other 8 are in lock down. I should have a few chicks here in a few days.

Do you have a lot of Delaware making it this time?

Update on my Brahma eggs.. Of 11 eggs in the bator (threw out the blood ring egg)..I have 3 that are looking great. Then there are the 3 eggs that never did anything, and the other 5 I'm not sure about. They don't look like the 3 good ones, but have varying degrees of development...I'll leave them in there and see what happens. I'm pretty happy to see the 3 good eggs..as they are shipped and this is a first time hatch for me ...

Lockdown is supposed to be 9:30pm Sunday -is there any kind of normal time from lockdown to pipping? I'm also wondering if I should change my lockdown time to the next morning or earlier on Sunday so I can make sure the humidity is stabilized after I lock them down. What do you do for eggs you set in the evening-when do you lock them down? I don't imagine a few hours early would be detrimental is it?

Yes. 4 of them are Delaware. I do also have 18 - 6 week old Delawares.

I don't worry too much about it. I just went into lockdown with mine, had them ready last night, upped the humidity. Just counted today as the first day.
I've had them pip early especially the small eggs like the bantams. Have some that pipped yesterday..day 19. Today is day 20, all of them pipped, none hatched yet. Guess they just wanted a little air.

The larger eggs..whew..I've had them go way later. They usually take the full 21 days, if not longer. You hear a lot of different stories on here about how long it has taken their eggs to hatch. Just keep the humidity up to at least 65.

Hey fife...how are your eggs coming along??

I am soo confused right now...I'm at day 18 and my leghorn eggs don't look full. it seems they still have alot of liquid and not much chick
Also (please don't laugh at me) doesn't locking down on day 18 gives you 4 days till the end??? 21, 20, 19, 18???

OK just to make sure I get it right...I set at about 9:30 pm May 04..I should lockdown 9:30 pm May 22-if I do lockdown but only increase the humidity the next morning that should be OK? Or should I go ahead and start getting that humidity up at 9:30 on may 22? It's my first time so I have no idea how easy it will be to hold the humidity up (though today I have the a/c running inside because it's super humid). I just don't want to mess up at this late stage of the game!!
