Same for me, three pips..one being since early this morning. I can see the little beak moving around in there. If it doesn't hatch tonight, may have to see what's up by noon. Hopefully I'll hear that desperate "where are you mom" peeping later tonight.

I have two that have five toes...no feathers on them. Clean legged. Then, it's third brother, or sister, has 4 toes, with the feathers. Mom is an Australorp, dad was a Silky. Can't tell how the feathering is going to look on them. Very black in color.

Good luck..where are you..power outage? So much is going on with tornadoes! I have some eggs that were shipped..hopefully, the day before one hit AL. I am getting some MF d'Uccle's! The tracking number says the 27th, AL was hit pretty bad on the 28th. My first time trying these. I also have some of the same coming from Michigan. Different breedings for me.
Anyway, good luck again..will watch to see if you get anything from these. They are pretty tiny eggs aren't they? Haven't tried them either. My Nankins are small..still have five going strong in a bator now.

The first time I helped a chick I killed it. It probably would have died anyway but still I felt like I murdered it. The next time I kept waiting, and waiting, and hoping, and finally said enough and using my science tweezers and headlamp with a magnifying lens on it, I carefully just removed pieces of the shell and left the membrane intact and misted it with water and it managed the rest of the way itself. You'll know if you need to help it, and if you're at all like me you will and hope for the best. I hope your little one makes it but sometimes they just don't. I hate that! This time we didn't have any fatalities in the class hatch, although there is one I'm worried about so I'll go in early and check on it and if it died I'll remove it. This time I have several extremely emotional students who need this to be a successful hatch. They have enough death at home right now.

Wow, you are having success everywhere. I hope your one chick makes it. I'll bet you have kids coming in to see these babies from other classes too. I bet they are loving it. You got so many! That's great.

Well, I just had the one hatch that I thought wouldn't hatch until late tonight. It's only 10:30 here..man, once they start to zip, they zip. Sad for another one though. As this last chick hatched, it moved an egg over. I could see that it had pipped at the wrong end..on the underneath side. I didn't even know it had pipped at all. I flashed the light on it, no movement. It was dead. I hurried and removed it. I have another one that has pipped, so three for now..that I know of because the little stinks will pip underneath sometimes..I just have to hope it's on the right end of the shell!
