This is Hazel. But I'm thinking I may have to change the name to Hazy!! Does this look like a young man?
He/she is my favorite. Loves to be cuddled, comes to me right away and loves to be picked up and held.. Talks, talks talks all the time but no crowing yet.
Eats all the time like a little pig!!!
Is not afraid of Henry the leghorn roo.
Is not aggressive to the others and actually is not aggressive at all.
The comb just started growing and the others have hardly any comb at all
They are 4 1/2 months old.
Thanks for any help.

I am too knew at chicken raising to hazard a guess on your baby, but the comb and waddles are much more pronounced and red than mine. Good luck figuring it out. Suz

Hi Suz; That's what my Hazel looked like about 3 weeks ago. Now we have the pronounced very red comb. That's why I'm wondering!

I won't mind if she is a he but I'm going to have to definately rehome Henry is it is a boy. Can't have 2 roos with only 3 hens and I really don't want any crosses anyway. Or I'll just have to keep Henry isolated in his pen. I really do love him and would hate to have to get rid of him.
And if Hazel is a Hazy then I'll be forced to get a couple more girls. (Oh that's too bad!

OHHHH These answers are all sounding good. This way I can pick out my own roo for them along with another couple of girls this spring. Thank you everyone. I guess we will still call her Hazel until or unless she starts to crow!

Thanks everyone!
