Need some help if possible with my cat

My cat Milo is just under a year old,he was abandoned back in may of 2012 with another 3 other kittens. He was in a bad way he had fleas,malnourished,needed a bath and grooming and he had ear mites. Now he is pretty much a fat lazy Garfield ^_^ that's what we call him. And he is one of those if i want affection i will come to you don't just push it on me cats,And he doesn't like to be confined to a room he will take a running start at my bedroom door and bust it open and then if i close it he will cry to be let back in...BUT HE WONT COME IN! when i do open the door. And I'm to the point of I'm thinking of making him an outside cat in the spring. And he is always doing this moan full meowing when I'm out of the room. He is a Dom short hair and he has been fixed

Now his litter-mate which is what i call him but they are both different breeds just loves me to death.He is a Flame-point Siamese named Chester,he cant get enough affection he will crawl on my shoulder and just lay there purring and fall asleep. And sometimes i think they stare at one another when i show them affection as if they are jealous

I have no issues with Chester he is a friendly cat who loves everyone.But Milo i am just at my wits end with him.

So you want to throw him outside because he cries at a door to be let in and then does not come in? I've dealt with ones of those cats for 9 years and it is just a minor annoyance. She is also one that does not want attention unless she wants it, so I just enjoy the times when she is being nice. Maybe you can leave you door open for them so that he does not have to run into the door to open it and then cry to be let out. He can choose if he wants to come in or not.

Your only option is to put dog doors on every door...true story. LOL

He probably just likes being able to see you. Some cats will show affection just by hanging out with you and sharing space, they may not want to be petted or even be close enough to touch you but being able to see you helps them feel secure in someway. So he cries at the door because he feels isolated but he doesn't actually want to be in the same room with you. If he does that when he is in the same room with you it means he feels confined and cats hate that too...if any of that makes any sense.

Or maybe he is just spoiled rotten and doesn't like the idea that there is some place in the house his kingly little butt is closed off from.

I can't really tell you how to train him differently though, it is just a personality thing, I had a cat that was the same way. It isn't really something to give a kitty the boot for I wouldn't think, unless you were losing a lot sleep over it or something. You could do what that one crazy family did and cut holes in their walls for that cats to crawl through whenever they want.

...That was a joke...don't do that. LOL

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the problem? You have one cat that is a snugglebug. Your other cat reminds me a bit of Rum Tug Tugger - "always on the wrong side of every door." Some cats are more reserved, the trick is to figure out ways to pay attention to them in a way that works for them.

I wouldn't worry about the staring, unless it is escalating into actual fighting.

I don't know your situation but could you just leave the door open? I have a similar problem with my Australian Shepherd, I use a small chain to keep a sliding door almost shut but open enough for my little dog to use the pet door to outside, he breaks the chain loose. But if I leave it all the way open he will sleep in that room he busts out of..I think It is a matter of being able to see us. Good Luck

I have had cats all my life with different personalities. Some better then others of course. What do you need help with here? not sure what the problem is?
