Last week i got a call from a family friend. He works for a big ranch down here in florida. He was out working in the orange grove and he seen two coyotes attack a female turkey. He rushed over to save her but it was to late. After looking around the area he found her nest and it had 12 eggs in it. He gathered them up and brought them right over to my house. First i candled them to see if there was development. There was so I put them in My 1502 sportsman right away. I just candled them again to see if there was farther development and there was. The only thing now is that i never did turkey eggs before so i don't know how long they take to develop. Also i am unsure how far along they are and when i have to move them from the moving racks to the bottom of the incubator. Looking for any help and suggestions that i can get. Also someone told me if i have some chickens hatch out when they hatch they ill teach the turkey how to eat. Is that true or false?

Twenty eight days for turkeys to hatch on average.

Since you don't know how far along yours are I would leave them in the turning rack until you see the first pips then move then pull the turner and bump the humidity.

You don't need chicken chicks to teach them how to eat. They can learn that on their own. If you do get any to hatch just be sure to give them extra attention for the first three days. Also you'll want to find some gamebird starter (at least 26% protein). If you are unable to do that then mix in a finely chopped boiled egg into their chick starter every day. One ought to do it I think.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I have wild game 28% here that I use on my new hatched pheasants and peacocks.
