I have five chickens that are over two years old.In the last
couple of days I have found that the other three chickens
are attacking one,and has pecked the head until it is
bloody,it take this chicken and put it in a pet carrier to protect it.What would cause this and what can I do to
stop this?Second I noticed feathers are dropping off of two
chickens and do not seem to be growing back.Any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

One of the hens may be the one doing all the pecking and feather picking. Look to see who is missing no feathers at all. Try boosting their diet with more protein - dry cat food, game bird feed, boiled eggs, even meat scraps from your kitchen. Keep the injured bird separate. The red bloody area draws their attn and will cause even more damage to her.
