if your small eggs are bantams and your large eggs are from standard chickens..... there could/should be a three day gap between hatches.

i just turned it on its side and it seems to be cracking easier. after this one is done hatching we are taking out the egg turner and putting all of them on their sides. what about putting it in with the chick that was born on monday??? no, no banties just some smaller eggs and some larger eggs. the larger ones seem to crack but don't live and so far our smaller one has hatched out, with our success rate at 1 lol

Its not zipping at all just seeming to try and come out of the one hole it has made, o how i want this little chick to make it

I'm confused a tad... what do you mean putting it in with the chick born on monday? putting this chick in? or the egg?!?!?

Smaller eggs hatch faster. Give them time. It really sounds like you had a humidity issue. It is something I think everyone has dealt with but I wonder how many people realize that is what the problem was.

At this point, just leave the lid on as much as possible and wait.

When I needed to open my incubator during lockdown I had a spray bottle of warm water ready and would just mist the inside of the incubator. Not aiming for the eggs, but the mist did land on them. It worked great.

It is my understanding that if the chick has pipped externally he will not drown. The only time they can drown is when they pip the internal air cell and not an external pip.

Do you know what your humidity is running at?

Also, another reason that pipped eggs don't hatch is because of poor ventilation. Make sure the vents are open, the chicks need to be able to breathe fresh air.

When the chicken was ready to be put in the brooder would it be ok to put the 2 together, but we found out the answer to that. they are seperated now, one is completely white with 2 little black feathers, and one is completely black with 2 white feathers. we have about 15 more eggs in the incubator and in the turner and i think we are going to try to take them out of the turner. when we laid the little chick on its side last night it was out in no time. thanks for everyones advice
