need tips to help shine up my hens feathers

I have a Female Rouen that i am preparing for a County Fair and her feathers a dry and brittle, every day i have let her out to the pond so she can bathe but it hasn't done anything for her feathers. If anyone has any pointers of how to get them shining again before fair, they would be appreciated.

Feed her some dry dog food, it has lots of protein and will shine her up.

Spray/mist it with water so she preens. If you have enough time you might get her out of the sun since that effects feather condition. other than that there isn't much you can do.
