Hi, I'm in the Mojave and I need to build a shade structure for my ducks pool area in their run. I would prefer it be at least 10'x10' the height doesn't need to be more than 5ft and could be a little less.
I've seen people make chicken tractors and such with PVC however I am thinking on hot days (lots of 100°-100+° days out here) when the gusts of 30-50+ mph winds hit, those hot PVC pipes are gonna turn into noodles... I'm looking at different types of metal, EMT conduit it cheap but not really designed to take too much being pushed and pulled around by wind... There's this 1" structural pipe that MIGHT do there is always the option to set it up using chain link top fence.... However I dunno it may have to be wood... Does anyone have any advice about the more affordable materials that hold up well to wind. I'd be covering the 10x10 area with a 70-90% shade cloth to help dissipate some of the wind load.
Any advice or tips or experience with this would be helpful. It'd be nice to hear PVC can hold up to both being very hot and in high winds... But I know I may have to spend some money on this.

I just don't want to build the thing and have it break, and if possible if like to make it something I could disassemble and move to a new spot and set up again... That's why I'm thinking different types of pipe, because wood well, to do that the right way, it's not gonna be able to be moved... Also I'm on a rental property so I probably shouldn't be installing anything permanent.
