I'm so upset by this. People should have to pass some sort of IQ exam to have children and pets. Hopefully she learns to better safeguard her remaining birds.

You did your job explaining everything in detail, how it's supposed to be done....she didnt listen and did it her way and now she's paid the price for her ignorance.

Unfortunately it was innocent lives that paid the price for her ignorance.

Heartbreaking.

And thoroughly maddening.

She is not qualified to have little lives depend on her. Sadly, many people fall in this same niche.

I learned the lesson the hard way that you cannot give birds to 'someone' that refuses to listen or thinks its ok to let dogs (some dogs) and birds inter-mingle. I do not give birds to the 'someone' anymore....she let her dogs kill every bird. Sorry you had to go through this.....

So sorry to hear about your experience. This last spring I had some eggs kinda fall in my lap. Haven't dealt with keeping poultry since I was a young child and that was a long time ago, but when I got these eggs I decided to make as sure as possible that if any hatched I would make their home as secure as possible since I live in a very high predator area. I read a lot on here and followed good advice . I have not lost a single bird to predators yet. Just wanted to thank you all for your great advice. If she isn't a member maybe she should sign up and learn a bit before she has any more birds. After reading a lot on here I tried to make my coop and run like Fort Knox. It has worked so far.
