Need to cull , please help

PURE CarbonMONOxide poisoning is painless. BUT when you include all the other gasses put out of the tail pipe it is NOT painless! I am sorry but I would rather know something I cared for did not suffer! Even if it means I have too!
Sorry, I put things I care about before myself. I did not mean to hurt any ones feelings or be too harsh. I just hate to know any living thing is suffering. I have almost drown, I have almost been killed by exhaust fumes, I have been stabbed, and shot plus many more things..electric, crushed, falling from hights....etc...... They all hurt!!! Lets just say I have led an extremely eventful life. Fear and pain (for the most part) are all mind over matter. and can be controlled. ( to an extent) Actually, I can say freezing was not that bad! It did hurt a lil bit at first but I went numb pretty quickly! So I guess that would not be to bad. BUT, Thank God I am still here! He has kept his hand on me all through my life. I have learned alot of lessons. I guess you could say I'm a slow learner. LOL

BUt any way back to the thread! Sorry my mind wanders. Any QUICK way is best! Ax, knife, machete, hatchet.. I know it forces you to do the deed... But personaly I feel better knowing my animals went quickly and as painlessly as possible at the hands of some one who cared. It still hurts! I won't lie. It is not easy for me, even now! But it is what is required and it is what they deserve.....at least in my book.

Good Luck and God Bless!

I agree that if you have exhausted all other avenues then it is best to cull her quickly - we have a humane killer here, it is a device which does not decapitate but kills the chicken instantly although I have to say their body does move for a few minutes - I hold my chickens and talk to them and they are very relaxed - this is of course if there is no other solution, we had to cull a 6 month old which was heartbreaking - she had a broken leg ( a guinea fowl jumped on her) - I isolated her and she got better but then she siezed up, couldn't walk and she was trying to move on her stomach - it was too painful for me to see her like this and we took the decision to put her out of her misery - yes it was hard but it was harder to watch her trying to struggle - only you know how bad things are but if you give her every chance of recovery and it doesn't work out then at least you will have the consolation of having tried.
I have an isolation unit here which I have used on many occasions and it has been successful except for Mary - I have a duck in isolation at the moment and she appears to be peaceful after being injured by one of my geese, I give them at least a week to see if they show any improvement and it is usually fairly obvious after that amount of time if they are likely to survive - nobody likes to end the life of any of their animals but unfortunately it is our responsibility to ensure they do not suffer.
I wish you well in whatever you decide to do for her benefit.
Suzie
