I currently have two "flocks" of chickens that I need to rehome. All individuals have been obtained from NPIP hatcheries as either 1-day olds or hatching eggs, with the exception of one"home-grown" backyard mix. I have a mix of breeds, but all are something with the exception of the one backyard mutt. I mostly free range my birds and use the coop just to pen them at night, and they are managed as two non-comingled "flocks" (due to age differential).
Flock 1: Various ages and laying stages right now (some on molt break, some producing).
1 Black Australorp Rooster (~1.5 year old)
1 Buff Orpington Hen (~2.5 year old, named Butternut)
1 Dominique Hen (~2.5 year old, named Gladys... absolute sweetheart and it breaks my heart to have to rehome her)
1 Splash Andalusian Hen (~1.5 year old)
1 Gold-Laced Wyandotte Hen (~1.5 year old)
1 Pumpkin Hulsey Hen (~1.5 year old)
1 Speckled Sussex Hen (~1.5 year old)
1 Easter Egger (~0.5 yr old, just started laying little blue pullet eggs)
1 "Barnyard Special" (~0.5 yr old, not yet laying)
Flock 2: All hatched June 18 of this year, none yet laying
1 Dominique Cockerel
1 Partridge Penedesenca Cockerel (this was supposed to have been a hen)
2 Dominique Pullets
2 Easter Egger Pullets (beautiful bearded black and white)
2 Golden Campine Pullets
I need to rehome all of them (except maybe Butternut and Gladys because I do not want to and may be able to "board" them with a current coworker until I get re-established in my new location). I do not have pics to post at this time, but that can be arranged. This relocation is unexpected (I just found out three hours ago), and wanted to get this post out there as soon as I could. I am in Knoxville/Oak Ridge area, but am willing to drive to meet up with you at a reasonable distance. Hope to hear from you!
Also, I have a breeder pair of meat rabbits that I will also need to rehome. The buck and doe are both purebred red Satins approximately ~1.5 years in age, and are great bunnies. The doe has produced two litters for me, each of 7 healthy babies, and is a terrific mother.
