Need to grow grass in shade

OK, before my SO kicks me out, refuses to talk to me, cuts me off or strangles me I need to find out what grass seed to buy or how to grow grass in the shade.
Two years ago I made a temporary run (beside the hens regular run) so they could get out a little in the evening to munch on grass, WELL, the grass never came back last year. I tried every thing I knew but I couldn't get grass to grow and nothing is happening in this spot again, just bare ground and the rest of the yard is greening up.
This spot gets maybe an two hours of sun in the morning and that is it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Most stores sell shade grass seed. Make sure you get the stuff that is specifically for shady areas and it should grow. Also, you might want to cover it with hay or something to keep wild birds and chickens from eating all the seed on you.

Orchard grass works great in the shade as well as sun. I believe you can find seed in your area.

Try "Canada Green" it is up and running (sprouted) in a week!
