Need to purchase chickens

Hi! I live in east Texas and I am in need of some new chicks preferably pullets. I am worried about getting them shipped because it's so hot. Does anyone have any advice/tips?

I guess I could but I lost multiple hens this summer. My egg production is way down and I use my eggs to barter.

How far are you from Ideal Poultry in TX? Shipping would prob be one day, but you might be able to pick up right from them.

I am about 3 hours away.

I had chicks shipped August 3 and arrived August 5. They did better than I expected. Came from Cackle. If you are only 3hrs drive from Ideal go with them.

How far do you live from Cackle?

I'm only about 2 hours away from Ideal and I got mine in less than one day. It was in February and all the chicks were alive and healthy. I did ask them if I could pick them up at the hatchery but they said I couldn't. I could only pick them up at their store.
