Need to re-home duck

I have a 4year old domesticated mallard drake. He lost his partner awhile back and unfortunately we cannot get him a new partner. He is becoming very territorial and bites me, my dog and anyone that goes in the backyard. I truly believe he is just a heartbroken lonely duck. Does anyone know of a loving farm that may take him? We are in Orlando, Fl.

There are no rehabs for disturbed drakes that I know of. I already have one rescued and significantly disturbed male muscovy, and cannot cope with another drake with disturbed behavior -- not enough room in the coop.

@Kmdejesus116 why are you unable to get a new partner? I think it easier to get two new female domestic ducks than to rehome a domestic drake [even a well behaved domestic drake]. I had two beautiful juvenile pekin drakes to rehome in May but cannot find anyone to take them [one remain;s with me and one has settled into my son's female flock.] If you are willing to work with your boy on his behavior, I can try and help with my experience handling my disturbed muscovy drake -- we can use messenger or email.

There is a farm in St Augustine that will take him but the boy will be out in a meadow with a pond with whichever wild waterfowl come in and whichever dumped-over-the-fence pekins are around. I don't think it is kind to put a domestic duck -- no matter how disturbed -- out on their own in a meadow with no nighttime shelter.
If he has to be rehomed, the best bet is finding a duck keeper with a large flock that can take another drake: through the Florida thread on Backyard Chickens; through social media. I think NextDoor is best for pets/backyard ducks, or Facebook. There are local news groups on Facebook that may accept a 'free to a good home' notice and there is also the Northeast Florida Farm and Garden group that has livestock for sale and rehoming. Orlando is close enough to the southern counties in the group for that: there are members in SE Georgia! Both the Northeast Florida Farm and Garden group and Craig's list have folks that want ducks for the cooking pot. If this disturbed drake is to continue its life as a backyard duck or flock duck, @Kmdejesus116 has to word the advertisement clearly and vet potential new owners.

I hope you're able to find a really good home for him.
His behavioural issues are probably due to his frustration and loneliness. Why cant you get him a friend? Im sorry you lost your other duck
