I just discovered lice on some of my silkies this weekend. I have already cleaned out their coop, treated it, and replaced the bedding. I also sprayed my whole flock with poultry protector. My new coop is being built and will be ready on Saturday and i do not want to transfer these little pests. I've read that this problem can be difficult to get rid of... Does anyone know of something that will completely rid the bugs from the chickens, like a dip or something?... Just in case the spray I used doesn't handle the problem in time? Some say it takes multiple applications to get them gone for good. Any help is appreciated. My main concern is not transferring them to the new coop.

Also, is there a way to remove the eggs from the feathers? Or do you just have to wait for them to hatch then kill them?

Treat them with some poultry dust, or some Sevin 5. Just ruffle some dust in their feathers and let them go.
