My chickens have coccidiosis and after 8 days of 2 teaspoons of corid a gallon all but 3 don’t have frilled feathers, 2 are still cowering in a little ball, one can’t get into the roost at night and is hiding from the rest plus she’s showing signs of wry neck and I just had one die because he couldn’t hold his head up. What can I do, do I risk killing her with coccidiosis and give her vitamins or do I make her ride it out until all coccidiosis symptoms go away

How long were you planning to treat for coccidiosis? Most people treat for 5-7 days. If they are still sick, you can reduce the dose to 1/2 tsp per gallon for another 5 days. But if you want to treat the one pullet separately, you could give her human vitamin E 400 IU, and 1/4 tablet of crushed riboflavin/B 2which you could get from a vitamin counter at Walmart or a pharmacy. She could still drink the Corid water for a few more days, or you could stop it. It is fine to give B 2 riboflavin when on Corid.

Thank you so much I really don’t want to lose another one

Is super vitiman b complex safe

If you are stopping the Corid you can give B complex. B complex has all of the B’s including B1, but when on Corid you should not give B1 thiamine. But B2 is riboflavin, and you can give that alone, or just stop the Corid now and use B complex. At this point she has probably had enough Corid.

If I stop corid they will die,
I’m getting them the b2 riboflavin tomorrow, I put them in my hospital room with some food and they both are much happier and warmer this is what they looked like outside

Olives (the blue OE) tail was all the way down and she was in a little refuge area I have for when I introduce babies but leave open when I don’t have any and she was walking really slowly and didn’t want to open her eyes, she also had bad balance and kept wobbling. The other one had bad balance and was fluffed up and distancing herself, plus she couldn’t make the 4 foot jump to her favorite swing.

This is them inside, Cinnamon the little bantam one is about full grown and is some OEGB mix and gets super stressed without a perch but Olive is fine on the ground. After drinking and eating all they want they both seemed way more alert and happier.

You do know that you can also give the Corid undiluted 0.1 ml per pound once a day, don’t you? That is about 1/4 tsp for a 2 pound or less chicken, and is in addition to the Corid in the water.
