I'll get on it,
as for the farm, it was 150 acres, we lost a few unfairly, but still have 130, so not bad, just glad all that's over with, and looking forward to getting all my birds back now!!!!
Just gone take a lot of time and money, I had over an acre in just waterfowl aviaries back then.
That is true about local and state guys, the problem with them is you cant find one up there smart enough to tell you anything.
I went threw that with my wild turkeys, they said all were banned here in GA, but they didnt realise there was more than 1 kind, turns out, just our native Easterns are, which was what I was trying to tell the hard headed jokers. You have to find one that is familiar with poultry laws, not many are, which makes it hard on us as keepers.
That's why I like Federal, those guys mostly know what they are talking about, I even like the Federal Gamewardens over state too. They come out for inspections on waterfowl, and actually know each bird, even rare endangered stuff I had like Laysan Teal, state guy knew the wood ducks!! LOL
Be patient with them, some times it's better to just go to their websites and read it for yourself.
Some states, just portect their local native birds, some do ALL poultry reguardless of species, so it can get complicated on that level, but as for Federal, it is just native north amaerican species, and endangered ones, some like the falcated teal and baikal teal, are on there too, yet very few have ever been found here in the states. Good thing is Federal has an easy to read full list of all the ones they require papers on, and they must be marked at hatch, hind toe removed or pinioned, or prober bands, this must be done even if they are just your own private birds, so keep that in mind.
