Need Wood Duck and Mandarin Experts' Advice

Okay so I am gonna use hardware cloth forthe sides and front, but they top? Could I use some left over 2x4 welded wire? Or do I need to buy aviary netting? Hardware cloth is npt an option for me since I am using it for the sides.

If you are going to keep them full winged, yes you need to use netting. It's purpose it to give when they fly into it. If you have wire up there and they fly into it, it can hurt them. Netting will stretch and give with them like a trampoline, wire wont

Okay so how do this sound!? My aviary is gonna be 7' feet tall, 10' wide, 15' long. The sight barrier is gonna be 4' tall and the sides are gonna be hardware cloth and the top is gonna be aviary netting. The pond will be anywere from like 2x3-4x5 and around 2' feet deep! I am gonna be planting 1 river birch and 1 black willow with pampas grass scattered! Any suggestions on how to make this better?
