We got our new baby chicks last Friday. Yesterday 5 of them out of 6 had sticky poop butts. I cleaned them and then put olive on there butts. This morning I found one baby chick laying on its side and not moving. She is still alive. I don't know what to do or what is wrong with her!?!? How can I help her or is it to late?:(

Give electrolytes with a bit of sugar for an energy boost. Ones specifically formulated for poultry are best. If you have access to a farm store, look for Poultry Nutri-drench, Sav-a-chick, etc....ask an employee if you can't identify what brand they are carrying. If you can't get to such a store, try unflavored Pedialyte.

Try to identify the potential cause of the pasty butt so you can combat it directly. Shipping stress? Overheating? Coccidiosis? There are many suggestions for what to look for if you search this forum.
