Needed coop to house 10 chickens

Hi,

I have 10 pullets and they need to get out of my basement. I need a coop design to house them. What type and size should I be looking for? I am willing to build it myself and would like to build it for $500.00 or less. Could anyone help me?

! Pleased you joined us! I certainly think you can build a great coop for $500. For 10 chickens you will need it to be at least 40 sq. ft. and the run should be at least 10 x 10. Advice: make it larger than needed in case you want to get more birds at some point. Take a look at the coops and run forum below - ask questions, read old threads - lots of good ideas. And the Coops section is great so you can see different styles and designs.
