mcmurray is out of most all the hens but they have plenty of males....... same with most of the other hatcheries

Have you called Meyer Hatchery? They usually have 17 week pullets for about $7 each

Actually - I just called them and for quantity of 100+, they are $5.45

Currently, they are taking orders for 17 week pullets and here is the info they gave me

They have the following quantities available for late May based on orders placed immediately:

Golden Buffs - 726
White Leghorns - zero
Black Star - 14

For orders placed for June delivery:

Golden Buffs - 5000
White Leghorns - 213
Black Star - 5
