Hi!
I am looking for suggestions / resources / is this even possible? information about a shed conversion. We currently have a shed that holds our riding mower. We want to expand a new coop off the side of it. The ideas is they are connected as one piece and we can get to the egg box and feed them from inside the shed. We would still take care of the cleaning on the outside. The chickens must not have access to the main portion of the shed.

Our shed is similar to this google image. We would want to add on to the side that is load bearing due to location. How do we make this structurally sound? Is if even worth combining them?
Thanks!!

It all can be done,,,,,,,, but I see some problems already. Your coop will be short in height because of the roof edge on shed. Then it will still be lower on further side of coop portion due to need for slope. You can make a small door inside shed into coop, but again, it would be short, and not easy to walk into.
I think a well designed standalone coop would be much more practical. Walk-in height also important for personal comfort, as well as good/proper ventilation. You can opt to convert a small garden shed, even the plastic Rubbermaid versions into a fine coop. Those do need added ventilation and added windows for natural daylight. If you are ready to go that route, we can help you on ways to convert.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

Thank you for your thoughts!
For the height problem we were wanting to remove part of the roof... the lower (side) portion. Then we would carry roof line at a slight slope over the coop.
We currently have a standalone coop that sits next to the shed & has kept our chickens safe for over two years. We're wanting to make a new one that is more user friendly now that we know more.

Here are some more detailed pictures of our shed and what we want to do.

:thumbsup OK ,,, Now I get a better picture of what you have, and how you want to achieve it. Build a load bearing wall inside from ground to top of where the roof makes the first bend. Then remove all the portions where you have marked with red X. This will give you access to build door, and whatever exterior egg boxes you want. (exterior, meaning interior of shed)
You will need that load bearing wall inside to compensate the added weight of your additions' roof, and possible snow load.
You will end up with a spacious coop for your flock.

That looks reasonable...
...but why remove the shed sheathing(all the red X's)?
Because...
The chickens must not have access to the main portion of the shed.
