Im thinking of trying to hatch my own eggs. Ive got 6 hens and 1 rooster that are always together. I have a hen whos always sitting on eggs. Ive decided to let her sit. Are all the eggs shes sitting on fertile? Theres 4 and im assuming only 1 is hers. Thank you

! Great to have you with us! It is more than likely that all the eggs are fertile - that isn't too many hens for one rooster. If you have any incubating/hatching questions check out the thread below. Good luck and happy hatching!

I agree with Redsoxs. With so few hens chances are the eggs will all be fertile. If the roo's been doing his job, that is. What you can do is candle the eggs after 7-10 days. By day 10 you should be able to see if they are developing and cull any infertile ones.
