My hen that has been setting eggs that where due the 27th my birthday stopped I hope I got them in the brood box soon enough
She is a red breasted with the curly gene and her mate is a blue face I think that blue face males are too cute

Love Buttons, was hoping Santa would bring me some but I guess he doesn't have anymore oh well. Maybe come spring I can buy a few off of someone on here.

SInce we are talking colors, I have a question. I have a beautiful normal male, and what I thought was a cinnamon or pearl female. Both are four months old. I have gotten no eggs, and I am starting to wonder if the "female" is a male. She has the barring of the golden pearl, or perhaps cinnamon.

BOTH quail are showing signs of being mated- you know, those neck feathers all awry and sticking up on their heads.

They do not fight, and seem happy in their outdoor coop.

The "female" is now developing a small bib area, red really, on the lighter cinnamon feathers. Can it be a male?

I will post a photo as soon as I can.

Do you see them mate
To me it would stand to reason they are both males if you have gotten no eggs
I have a friend who has a male with female coloring
