Neem oil and fertility

I am wanting to try neem oil for mites on my chickens and in the coop. I am a Silkie breeder and heard someone say that neem oil can cause infertility. Does anyone know if this is true or has anyone used it and had no fertility problems with their flock??

What I am reading is that it can cause miscarriages, at least in rats, if eaten while pregnant.

ETA I do see some things saying that sperm motility decreases. These studies are talking about ingestion or injections rather than transdermal exposure (where absorption will be limited).
