Neem oil for lice: How should I treat them and is this brand ok?

Wear long sleeves, gloves, and especially at least a N95 face mask! They are available in the paint department at the big box stores, or anywhere. Inhaling dust spray, or general chicken house stuff is BAD!
Then come in and wash everything.
Have any cats out of the area, at least until it's all dry tomorrow.
The permethrin doesn't last long in the container in sunlight; store it inside in a cabinet.
Chicken keeping fun!

Ok, thank you!

All 20 birds with lice have been sprayed. Does anyone know how long it takes for the permethrin to affect the lice?
Also, will I have to do this again in a certain amount of time to kill any new lice that have hatched?

I sprayed once a week initially just to be safe. Wild birds, etc can introduce the pests. I have some wrens trying to build nests in some of my coops. I did take the stuff the wrens brought in and threw it out but they are persistent. I have been spraying pretty much weekly because since I have seen the wild birds and I don't want to have to deal with the pest again. As I said in a previous post my birds did look pathetic because at the time they were also going through their molts but they didn't really seem to be getting their feathers in like they should have and that is when I discovered they had the pests. I mixed an ounce of permethrin to a gallon of water. I checked them again a couple of days later and still saw some, so my next spray I went 2 ounces to a gallon and after that I didn't see any on the birds. I then sprayed weekly for awhile and the birds started looking better and better. After about a month I started spraying every couple of weeks. Now the birds are beautiful again. I was mad at myself for letting them get so bad but glad I caught it.
