Neigbors dogs VS a roo---LONG post

Yes, it is legal to have roosters in Modesto. Pretty much the only ordinance, that I know of, delinates what you can or cannot have states that if it is a pet and is not banned by the state it is legal. So, it is open season when it comes to pet ownership. I am no sure if having a rooster crow is considered a noise violation. I really doubt if someone did call on you that they would do anything. I really doubt anyone will call on you. My hens make some noise now and again and no one has complained. They are very lax around here.

Were in Modesto do you live? I'm in East Modesto.

I am not quite sure. Pulled a few chicks out of a bin in JS West that said Red Pullets. I think one is a Gold Star, the other is a RIR or Red Star and one is a RIR.

Wouldn't it be nice if people with noisy dogs who bark all of the time were half so concerned about whether they should have them as people who are considering getting roosters seem to be about that?

Get a rooster. Get five roosters. If they complain about the noise, then complain about theirs.

I think you should get as many roosters as your flock will safely allow, and then move the coop right up next to the obnoxious neighbors' yard, ideally close to their bedroom window

. Make sure you give some eggs to the nice ones.
