Hi there,
My neighbor directly behind me has a pool that's not used, and the same ducks come back at least twice a year to have their ducklings in her backyard. It's super private for them, lots of trees, and they've had several litters of ducklings back there. Once litter didn't make it and another I'm not sure what happened to.
Today, I found out that these ducks had another litter of ducklings. Another neighbor had called the city because she found one in her yard that must of got out. The city came out and took the 8 ducklings from the neighbors backyard. They said they would take them to a lake or pond in the area. I feel awful for the mama duck. What are the chances the 8 ducks will survive on their own without mama?? Has to be very traumatic for her and the dad.
I read that you can put beach balls in the pool and that would deter them? Is that true?
Thanks so much for your help.
