Ok, so now we are down to 15 chicks. Just lost one to our neighbors lab. I am really mad !!!!!!!!!!! I am just glad it wasn't one of my sons favorites that we named and he didn't really see it when it happened.
Our neighbor is a older guy, probably around 60 or 70 had just gotten a knee replacement and has this hyper active 1 year old lab. He can't take care of the dog, no walks nothing, has him tied up on his porch where he eats, drinks and poops and this poor dog is going crazy. He got loose a couple of times before and came over and played with our dogs, he is just a puppy and needs some exercise. A month ago he chewed up our sons picnic table (brand new !!!!! just put together, not even played with) and we told that guy that it would cost 20 Dollars to replace the chewed up parts......, well i guess different story.
After the dog killed the chick I brought him over, with the dead chick in a box and told him what happened. He said he would look for a new home for the dog since he realizes that he can't give him the care he needs and said he was really sorry... bla, bla,bla.... I was so mad I didn't even know what to say and just reminded him of the 20 Dollars, got the cash turned around and left !!!!!!! I just hate when people are so irresponsible and don't take proper care of their animals, that dog is purely neglected and if we would have animal control (we live out in the country) I would report him.
