Neighbor wont mow his field. Having problems with rats.

You would have to be really, really careful to have a well managed coop before calling them. You run the risk of getting a citation yourself, it is true, but rats are yucky. And I would definitely be locking my feed up at night.

I can't imagine the town doing anything, it's not like the guy has mounds of garbage, it's Grass and I said earlier, the rats come over Because you have chickens and food around, I don't know about yours but my chickens scatter food All over and even tho I pick up the food dish every night there is still food all over the ground and there is nothing I can do about it. You either have to ask permission from the Owner to mow it Or leave it alone and do what you have to about Your rats that come to eat from Your chickens.....he could complain about your chickens attracting rats!

Seriously, you're probably going to have to rig up a "rat-proof" coop or something similar so they can't get at the feed. If there's no way for them to eat it, they'll stop hanging around.

Ive got this problem whupped. The property went up for sale today. I took off from work early to sign an intent to buy contract and put down $500 good faith money. Hopefully I will soon be able to eradicate the vermin once and for all. Im keeping my fingers crossed. I want to keep the authorities away at all costs. I dont trust the Govt. at all. Look at what they have done to our nation. How can anyone trust them after the way that they have behaved.

Be careful of using D-con type poisons as I've lost dogs due to them chewing on the dead rats carcass's. Do Guineas or Peafowl go after mice like they do snakes? Maybe a good terrier on patrol would help.
