We are currently raising 3 goslings and in the process of constructing a coop and pen for them. We have two acres of land in rural Wyoming but also live under a neighborhood association. The neighborhood covenants allow raising livestock for recreational purposes only and I formally informed the association of our intensions. What I do anticipate as a reply from them is a requirement for some form of " waste management plan". An adjacent neighbor had 3 horses and they were required to submit a "Plan" and remove waste to the dump weekly ( summer and winter ). I do not want to do that. I'd like to compost it and use it as fertilizer on site.
What do you guys do with the poop?
Thanks

Mine are on wood shavings I use there used litter to reseed pasture as a cover for the seed. I am so sorry for your association. What we use from the earth we should give back. I hope they let you compost.

One lovely thing about geese is that they are grazers, and when they are allowed to forage on grasses their poop is not smelly and is beneficial for your property. I've heard them called "fertilizer noodles"...

Another pine shavings user. I have a pile left over from winter, but mine mostly ends up as mulch smothering weeds in the flowerbeds.

Heads up -- I have 3 acres, but my geese spend 60% of their time in the front yard. Lots of poop on the walkway that needs managing as well. (No idea if it's traffic to watch, dog walkers to yell at, eaten to the ground grass, or what that makes them love that area.)
