My neighbors dog attacked my chicken in my yard yesterday and my sweet Betty White can’t walk on one of her legs. As if that’s not bad enough, his gosh came into my yard and attacked my dogs three days ago. Betty is drinking and eating. I currently put her in a laundry basket in my personal bathroom to watch her over night. During the day I put her in my sun room to keep her away from my other chickens and possible predators from outdoors. She is normally so full of life and follows me like I’m her mommy. I’m just heart broken! I don’t see any blood or brakes visually, but when I found her in the back corner of my yard she was unable to walk. Her white feathers were everywhere! I literally screamed in tears. Found my other four about a half block away from my house through my front yard. I lost my papa due to Covid a year ago and couldn’t even go see him in the hospital months before that. We were very close and it was so painful that I decided to get my girls. They helped me as my support animals because papa and I always had hens when I was growing up. So I kinda felt in some strange way he was attacked through them. My neighbor almost made is sound as if it’s my fault for having chickens. I don’t know what to do to ease her pain or my heartache. I think we both have PTSD now. Ughhhh
