I am both sad and mad. The neighbor who moved in this summer, has made a practice of letting their dogs run the neighborhood. Daily someone comes close to running them down on the road. Today one of their dogs came into my back yard, into my fenced in run and took one of my favorite hens. Animal Control says don't go talk to them, we will. I say, someone needs to let them know that next time It will not end well for the dog, so keep it penned up. I have kids and chickens who should be safe in my yard. The dog owner took the mangled chicken to the neighbor across the street, thinking it was one of theirs. He said it was almost gone when my husband went to talk with him, to see if he’d lost any chickens or ducks today too. He offered to keep it there. Since it keeps my kids from seeing it I thought it was a good idea. He said it was so badly chewed it was hard to recognize and probably unsavable but he will let us know if it lives through the night
