neil young, our handsome 15 week old bantam rooster, is waiting for his forever home in austin, texas!

neil young (born october 7th, 2013) has been raised alongside his three sisters, indoors in a brooder up until week 10, then out to the backyard in their beautiful coop and added run!

he is very sweet, curious and charming. surprisingly enough, he is a little late in the crowing game and though we've heard lots of new noises from him, no crows yet.

he is currently on a diet of organic grower feed, dried meal worms, fresh organic fruit and produce and water with a bit of acv. his favorite treats are pumpkin guts and rainbow swiss chard! :)

his coloring is gorgeous; as a chick he was black and white with just a little brown. now he has all of that and more, he is mostly white, with black and brown spots. his tail feathers are dark iridescent green.

he has had two visits to the local avian vet and has a clean bill of health!

he loves to eat, chase off the birds, bask in the sun and protect his ladies.

he is looking for a good backyard home where he will be well taken care of! :)

i am happy to answer any additional questions!

thanks!

Hi, I live in Ms. (Kiln) is that to far to possibly meet somewhere halfway? Or if you would be willing to ship, it would only be 1 day, according to my local PM. I would love to introduce him to my flock of ladies. He is beautiful! I have 3 bantam hens that I'm sure would go gaga over him

and my daughter and I love road trips! I have a large area that my chickens free roam and a 4 unit coop that is constantly maintained and winterized. All of my chickens, including my Seramas, are very healthy, loved, cared for and spoiled. Even with the crazy winter weather we've had, my hens are still laying like CRAZY!! My belief is if you're good to them they will be good to you! Let me know what you think. You can pm me if you would like. Hope to hear from you soon. Patches (that's my name, really)

kilnchick,

sounds like a very nice home, i appreciate the offer, thank you! unfortunately you are just too far for us, and i don't have it in me to put neilyoung in a box to ship, just can't. :(

good luck finding your ladies a prince!! :)

update:

neilyoung is still looking for his forever home in texas! and he is officially crowing!

please texas friends, if you are available to take one more roo in, pick neilyoung! trying to get him re-homed before he accosts his sisters!!

Did Neil Young find a home? I am north of San Antonio and would gladly drive to Austin for him. I have 8 chicks and am looking for a rooster for them. We have a large coop and live in a meadow that allows plenty of roaming space and lots of bugs and worms. The birds have made that clear. Please let me know if he is still with you. He is very handsome!

@sagewoman, my apologies for the delayed response; neil young was relocated to a friends ranch out in lockhart, if not your home would have for sure been an option, it sounds lovely!

i hope you found your ladies a little man! :)
