NEK Vermont - Best way to find local ordinances?

Hi there! We are planning a move to NEK in hopefully the near future. We won't be starting our flock until warmer weather, but we want to make sure we purchase a home we can actually have chickens at! Does anyone have any help for the NEK local ordinances? I don't know how to tell if a lot is considered in the city or not, and who would I ask to find out? Surely a home with 10+ acres does not have the same farm animal laws as a house in the suburbs around a town? TIA!!!!

You are describing a relatively large area. There are 3 counties. Essex, Orleans, and Caledonia counties. Figure out where you want to purchase your home. Then visit the County office, and ask questions there.
If you will be in a specific town,, then ask at that City Hall. Most of the small towns do have a Mayor, so there should be a town hall.
