I have a 22 week old Production White with a mildly bold personality. The whole time growing up her personality made me wonder if she was a he. The only thing that made me think she was a she this whole time is the comb and wattles were small and pink.
A few minutes ago I opened the front door to find Nellie there. As much as I wish she was in her run, it was rather cute, so I grabbed the camera. Keeping the chickens in their run is another issue I'm working on.
When I was taking the pics I noticed her comb and wattles seemed a bit bigger and brighter. There's been no crowing.
I'd like you're opinion on whether Nellie is truly a Nellie or if Nellie is a Nels. I'm hoping Nellie is a Nellie because I've gotten quite attached to this goofy bird. I can't have any roos.
This is the first time having chickens for me. So many have turned out to be boys! I started out with 14 chickens. If Nellie is a Nels that mean I'm down to only 3 hens.
It might be a cold Winter for the girls here in Minnesota. We built the coop thinking there would be 6 hens.
