My girlfriend opened an egg today and was surprised to find a broken neon yellow yolk and about one quarter of the inside of the shell having a black spot on it. I didn't see it myself. We think maybe the egg cracked somehow? No noticable odor. It was less than a week old. We are on the downside of a nasty mite infestation that took one of our veteran hens and created a real mess in the coop. I used a combo of white vinegar and some old bleach, spraying three different times. They are knocked down enough where the girls are laying in the coop again. Anyone ever have an egg like this? Thanks!
