I have two Rhode Island reds along with a few others and and curious about what you think the gender of this one is. Of course it is the one my son is attached to and we’re hoping it’s not a rooster. Luckily we have two reds and the other is really looking like a hen. This one has me nervous because it puffs up its neck feathers quite a bit. Not at us but at the other birds. I’ve read that hens do this to establish pecking order too, but I’m a Newby and wanted some thoughts from folks who have way more experience than myself (and my google machine). The birds are a few days past 8 weeks.
