So I’m in love with my babies and being the nervous momma I am, I’m worried about one of my chicks. She is active and eats and drinks, but she is smaller than her peers and her shape is rounder. I don’t know if she’s just small or if something is not okay with her. She also is the most vocal and sounded a bit distress like but that has not been as much the last few days. She did have a yucky butt and I cleaned her up. Pics here for anyone with thoughts. Shes the little round black chick

Thank you!!!

Welcome To BYC

It may be she's just a different breed or a little behind, but it would be a good idea to gently examine her to see if you feel any air trapped under the skin that may be causing her symptoms.

I'd feel of her abdomen, there's a couple of air sacs located there. Compare her to other chicks her size.

She's eating/drinking which is good. If you have Poultry Nutri-Drench give her 2-3drops twice a day.

Below is more information about ruptured air sacs (bubble chick).
