OK... I bought a couple of used incubators and I am trying to get them set up.. but I can not get the temp to 99.9 we have gone up to 113 and down to 80 ... (why they have that much variance confuses me since all eggs:barnie say 99 to 99.9 )... anyway ..I am just wondering what else I should worry abt I put the water in the bottom then I notice it has both "holes" open on the top and the instruction manual says one should be open ..anyone experienced feel like helping an inept person?

Hi, Incubators are very touchy you need to adjust just a teeny tiny bit and give it a couple hours to stabilize before you make any changes. The incubator should have came with little plugs to insert or remove from the holes, generally one open for the first stage of incubation then all open for the last 3 days, this is for ventilation. Don't forget you need a hygrometer as well as a thermometer. Hope I have been of some help.
