Nest Box Care

Well my girls are really starting to pump out the eggs and squawk like the dickins. I've noticed my nest boxes are being used quite a bit now by the 5 hens that are laying. My question is HOW often should I clean the straw out of the nest boxes? Or should I change/refresh monthly, weekly, or for you OCD'ers daily?

I clean mine out...about once a week. Really, it depends on how they look....if they look dirty...muddy...poopy...I clean them out.However, there has been NO rain here lately...so nice clean dry nest boxes! WOOHOO! But we REALLY need the rain!

Clean/add new material as needed, I dont find mine getting dirty as much as shavings getting kicked out when each hen has to rearrange the nest. I just put more shavings in and the start rearranging its a vicious cycle.
